4th Annual Art by the Inch
MarinMOCA Fundraiser

Just in time for the holidays, the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art’s annual “Art by the Inch” fundraiser gives visitors the opportunity to select and purchase sections of a 100-foot mural painted by Artists of MarinMOCA.
Each artist creates several feet of the mural, and the pieces are assembled in the main gallery at MarinMOCA. But the artists don’t stop there. They link the individually created artworks by painting dynamic transitions. The result is a continuous composition that can be easily divided by guests into unique artworks of varying sizes. Beryl Miller, event organizer, explains, “We want viewers to be wowed by the panoramic mural, but we also want them to find the section that is perfect for them. The buyer completes the artwork through the act of framing and selecting their own, unique artwork.”
Each year, MarinMOCA welcomes new and repeat visitors to this innovative fundraiser, and viewers know they will find a new mural waiting for them. “My whole family is a huge fan of MarinMOCA and Art by the Inch. We all reached consensus on the perfect piece of art for our home at a great price. I encourage everyone to attend this really fun event,” says Novato City Manager Michael Frank, who attended for the first time in 2010.

All proceeds support MarinMOCA exhibitions, events, and programs. Admission is free to this exciting celebration of art, art making, art lovers, and artists.
